János Áder is a Hungarian politician who was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary between June 18, 1998 and May 15, 2002. He was succeeded in that position by Katalin Szili. Áder is currently a deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament. In the European Parliament election he is nominated to become a member of the European Parliament,[1] on the Fidesz party list, occupying the 4th place on that list. Áder is a founding member of Fidesz (Alliance of Young Democrats). In the elections 1990 and 1994 he was head of the Fidesz campaign. He was a member of the Hungarian Parliament (Országgyűlés) between 1990 and 2009.
